Open style circuit board transformers

Open style circuit board transformers are used as

• Audio-frequency transformers,
• Current transformers,
• Voltage transformers,
• Mains transformers.

The winding structures of the circuit board transformers have one or two compartments, or they are protectively insulated structures used in safety transformers.

Collar model

In the collar model, the mounting points are solder tags or lugs.

Resin moulded circuit board transformers

Resin moulding provides the transformer with a structure which tolerates vibration, knocks and moisture well. Larger circuit board transformers can be mechanically mounted with the fastening lugs of the circuit board’s moulded case. Because of the resin, a moulded transformer has a better cooling power. Their load capacity is slightly higher than open frame models’ capacity. These transformers are used for the same applications as open frame models.
